Nitrox Course



SCUBA DIVING, ANYONE?? If you are already a certified SCUBA diver and would like to expand your knowledge through a complete program designed to provide Sport Divers with a safer breathing medium for enjoying dives in the 40 to 130 feet of salt water (fsw) depth ranges and increase your bottom time. Enriched Air Nitrox course (better known as NITROX) will be offered for those interested, with two Open Water dives.

Course cost is $250 and it will include:
- Certification and Admin. processing fees (Normally $30)
- Lecture portion of the IANTD EANx Program
- Text books (IANTD Enriched Air Nitrox Student Manual & Workbook) (Normally $39.95)
- IANTD EANx Diver Wall Certificate
- Two SCUBA cylinders with EANx mixtures of between 24 and 40% oxygen (Normally $12 - $15 each)
- IANTD EANx Diver Card (When the diver logs the minimum two OW dives, and is signed-off by an IANTD Instructor, the IANTD EANx Diver card will then be issued)


PREREQUISITES:

1. Must be a qualified Open Water Diver.
2. Must be a minimum of 15 years of age with a parent or guardian authorization, or a minimum of 12 years of age for Junior Diver Qualification, or a minimum of 18 years of age without guardian approval.
3. Student must be able to have proof of OWD or higher level certification.

PROGRAM CONTENT:
1. Administrative Section and Complete lectures from the instructor presentation slides (Physiological Aspects of EANx Diving, Physics of EANx Diving, Tables for EANx Diving, Operational Aspects, Dive Planning with EANx, Analyzing your gas mix, etc).
2. Program covers all EANx mixes from 21% to 40% oxygen, emphasizing the use of EAN 32 and EAN 36.
3. It is recommended that all divers perform two dives on an EANx mixture of between 24% and 40% oxygen.

PROGRAM LIMITS:
1. No dives may be conducted to depths greater than the student's previous qualification, or a maximum of 130 fsw.
2. No dives having a mandatory decompression stop may be made.
3. Appropriate safety decompression stops (3 min.) must be performed.
