Try Scuba Diving

Prerequisites: Absolutely none!
Description: This introductory dive is a highly supervised, guided scuba dive under the direct supervision of a diving instructor. You will start with a 30-45 minute dry briefing on basic diving concepts and scuba skills. This will be followed by a safe dive on a section of the reef. Your dive will only take you as deep as 12 metres (40 feet) and your diving group will be limited to 4 or less. Generally your dive will last approximately 30 minutes, and during that time the instructor will be with you at all times . . . and if you want, even hold your hand. NOTE: This is not a certifying course, and instruction will only apply to that try scuba experience.

Jr. Open Water Diver--PRIVATE COURSE

Prerequisites:Age 10-14; Ability to participate in activities involving low to moderate levels of exertion
Description: Jr. Open Water Diver is conducted as a separate course from regular Open Water instruction. It is private course with the instructor. This ensures that concessions are made to the Jr. Diver’s age, skill level, learning ability, and to allow for extra safety precautions for your child. This program is designed to provide lay people with the knowledge required for diving. You can earn this by completing pool dives, knowledge development sessions and by making open water dives. This program certifies divers to use basic open circuit diving equipment to 60 fsw. You will learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques.

Open Water Diver

Prerequisites:Age 15+; Ability to participate in activities involving low to moderate levels of exertion
Description: This program is designed to provide lay people with the knowledge required for diving. You can earn this by completing pool dives, knowledge development sessions and by making open water dives. This program certifies divers to use basic open circuit diving equipment to 60 fsw (21msw). You will learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques.

Nitrox Diver

Description: This program provides recreational divers a safer breathing medium for enjoying dives in 40 fsw (12 msw) to 130 fsw (39 msw) depth ranges. The diver may elect to mix on IANTD Nitrox tables or conservatively using their dive computers air tables with an added safety margin. The IANTD Nitrox Diver certification is adaptable to being taught as a single program or combining it with a variety of advanced or specialty courses.

Advanced Open Water Diver

Advanced Nitrox

Description: This IANTD program is designed to extend the divers knowledge with O2 mixes of up to 1.5 PO2 and teaches one stage cylinder decompression techniques. It further develops diving skills and provides a greater understanding of Oxygen use as well as the Nitrox diving concept.

Deep Diver

Description: This IANTD program has been developed to provide responsible training to divers who plan to dive 130 fsw (39 msw) on air. The IANTD Deep Diver Program trains divers in skills, performance, theory, and planning of deep dives. This program remains within the commonly practiced depth of 130 fsw (39 msw). It is the first sanctioned program to provide proper international training in safe deep diving skills and performance. It is recommended that this program be taught in conjunction with the IANTD Nitrox Diver program.

Rescue Diver

Prerequisites: Advanced Open Water certification, Current CPR/First Aid
Description: This IANTD/NAUI program is designed to provide advanced divers with the knowledge required to affect the rescue of another dive or self rescue. You can earn this by completing knowledge development sessions as well as dives in strenuous environments to search for and save another diver. Normally combined with AED, CPR, O2 and remote O2, and Diver First Aid, this will be the most informative class you experience in diving. These emergency life support classes can be taken as stand-alone classes as well. This course is a great deal of labor, but will prove to be the most rewarding class you experience because it leaves you with the ability to help yourself as well as others.

Recreational Trimix Diver

Prerequisites:Advanced Open Water and Nitrox Certifications
Description: This IANTD program is designed to provide recreational divers with a breathing medium for extending their dives to sport diving depths without any narcosis. By adding helium and establishing Equivalent Narcotic Depths (END) between 40 to 80 fsw (12 to 24 msw), the divers will not feel the effect of the narcosis. The diver may elect to dive the “mix” on tables or computers. The IANTD Recreational Trimix Diver qualification may be taught as a single program or combined with a variety of IANTD advanced or Specialty Diver programs.

Technical/Normoxic Trimix Diver

Description:These programs are designed to train divers in the use of diving and Nitrox for professional reasons and to operate in waters of limited visibility while employing structured methods in the retrieval of submerged evidence from a maximum depth of 100 fsw (30 msw) and the potential use of this evidence in a court room.
